| Principles Of Animation: ---------------------------------------
Squash And Stretch
This is when objects and characters are stretched and squashed out of proportion to accentuate certain movements, this principle is seen a lot in the cartoon Road Runner, and an example of this is when Wile. E Coyote falls from a height and his head stays in the same position for a few seconds, stretching his neck, before his head snaps back downwards again.
Exaggeration
As the name implies this is when movements and expressions are over exaggerated to draw the audiences attention to what is happening, a good example of this is when Jerry is trying to sneak past Tom, and he over exaggerates the movements.
Follow Through
This is when characters follow through on actions to add realism to their movements or actions, this is shown for instance when Wile. E Coyote stops running and skids for a few metres before stopping.
Staging
Staging is about the characters being in the right place during scenes, and moving to the correct places in relation to the the other characters on screen. A good example of this is how fight scenes play out in some Anime cartoons.
Anticipation
Creating tension or build up to make the audience anticipate what is about to happen, like when a flame burns along a line of gunpowder in a Looney Tunes cartoon.

| I don't know whether it's purposeful, but it appears that the hair is moving through wind.
... If it isn't, It looks alright.
It doesn't exactly look finished either, so if you want to post a more recent, it'd be much appreciated.

| Hi Jack, I have moved your latest post over to this thread so all your development work is together and not in different threads each time | |

| I do like the way you have gone for a more cartoon styled walk cycle. The body parts being really square etc makes it your own style!
Detail wise because its "boxed" (what luke said) I dont think theres much more u can do with it, except a background tbh

| Maybe its because the top and the bottom part of the leg is the same height. Make the top part 2/3 of the bottom. | |

| looking good , but the character needs abit of weight added to it and also i think u should look at weight transfer then it wuold look more realistic | |

| The issue is the timing at when your legs pass, it looks almost like they are kicking themselves even though they are not, you need to just play around with it and add some up down movement aswell | |

| In the foreground leg it looks like the length of the lower part varies. In some frames it's smaller than others. And it makes the character look like they nicked their legs from Inspector Gadget. Also, it looks like it's slipping at the start. Like he just stepped on an ice puddle. You might want to slow those frames down a bit by drawing one in which the leg is closer to it's position in the frame before. | |

| ince the legs are blocks you cant really give much weight effect. The curving toes aren't doing it, I think they are the problem with the legs they move too fast. | |
