Squash and stretch: When somthing hits somthing else, it squashes with the impact. If it mvoes fast it will stretch slightly like a bouncy ball bouncing, it squashes when it hits the ground and stretches when it leaves.

Follow Through: If you throw a ball, after you have thrown it your body follows your arm through with the momentum you built up.

Exagguration: Where movements and actions are done over the top and big

Balance: Balance is when you put an equal wieght on the opposite side of sothing to stop it falling.

Secondary action: When you move your hand up, your forearm and upper arm with move with it.

Character Personality: Character personality is how the person moves, like an old person would walk slowly and carefully, or a very fat person would "waddle"

Unit 65 Task 1 Empty
PostSubject: Character Model   Unit 65 Task 1 EmptyWed Oct 21, 2009 1:21 pm

I started off making the head from a box

Unit 65 Task 1 110

This wasn't going well, so I started to model the body.

Unit 65 Task 1 211

This wasn't going great either, so I started over, following a tutorial on the internet. changing it so its relevant to my character.

This is the basic head shape I started with, without anything shaped.

Unit 65 Task 1 310

I then shaped the nose.

Unit 65 Task 1 410

I modelled the eye, this took a lot of time to do.

Unit 65 Task 1 510

Then done the mouth

Unit 65 Task 1 610

Then I shaped the head

Unit 65 Task 1 710

Looking good so far Jake, looks a bit choppy though, maybe work on making the face less flat and get it curving round?

It looks like you've bit off more than you can chew with all of those polygons, and starting from a square to be honest Jake.
You should try modelling individual parts of the face from a single polygon first, and then connecting them up later, right now everything looks very out of proportion.

I'm liking the model, Jake. I like how you've shown exactly how you went about doing everything in steps. The model is looking pretty good but it looks a bit jagged in places. You may need to move some of the points around a bit so that it has a more rounded, natural shape. It's hard to pull off but I'm sure it'll be worth it. Keep it up, bro bro bro your boat.

Your take on body looks interesting but I would say add more vertical lines so its not a flat chest and back. Sholders are really well done

Looks like he's going to be rather short as well, unless you where going for a Dwarf Zombie.

I think he is short because its gonna be a limping zombie. You might wanna follow declans advice and make legs seprate from body and not extrude from body.

Interesting critique Jack but I feel the odd sentence structure limits the points you can make. Perhaps consider rounding out your vowels or something. Perhaps post some initial sketches of this sentence so we can see where it began?

These are two screenshots from when I was making and shaping the body.
I completely redone the body again and it ended up alot better I think

Holy hell, those hands are amazing.
Still, the head is looking really good. It just requires some make-up to hide the mutated tumors. Still, for a more advanced model than everyone elses other than Declans, you're making good progress. Please to be continuing. Post feet or gtfo.
