Unit 33: Task 1 - Thomas Murray Empty

Unit 33: Task 1 - Thomas Murray Unlayerdmexican
this is my finished idea for my 2d walk cycle of a cartoonish style of a amature semi stop motion mexican wrestler

ive made his arms to look stiff to go with his charcters ego, i also have added hair on the chacter and some stubble to give the chacter some age and crudeness.

What i wanted out of the way i animated my character diddint work an was too fast and the legs diddint work well and neither did the perspective. So i moved his body around to show from a perspective of his side but keep his head in the same place which is looking directly at the viewer to give it more of a comical effect which worked smoothly and coloured correctly in the end at 25 fps. How i did this was by doing each body part peice by peice then adding them in to form up the character and my walk cycle which also added like a stop motion effect to it because of the head wobbling

Haha Tom that's genius XD

Although are you sure you're going to be able to animate him walking properly? It doesn't look like he has much leg xD

Hi Thomas,

You need to show how your character will walk, this is your last week in college before the deadline. Get an animated cycle posted so members of the class can give you some feedback Smile

Staging
Staging is when you show a viewer an action, character or mood to the viewer in a certain way to make it look right to the viewer’s eye and also so the viewer does not miss anything and to make a certain object or character stand out.

Weight
Is to show the viewer the weight of the character for example a bolder hitting the ground would make the screen shake and effect the ground below it.

Exaggeration
This is when something is over exaggerated normally an action to get a point across this is usually aimed at younger viewers for them to easily understand it.

Anticipation
Anticipation is to set the mood to keep the viewer wondering what’s going to happen next.

Secondary Action
This is when something is affected by the primary actions outcome but is also unnoticed by the viewer and just adds more realism to the set.

It looks like it's going well with the upper body, however I'm a bit concerned about the length of the legs being too long now. They don't seem to fit the character at all.
Maybe they should be about 60%-70% of that length?
